WELD 213 - Fabrication Concept and Design


Credits: 1-6
LAB hours per week: 12
This course examines the fabrication process of concept, design, and blueprinting of fabrication weldments. Students also learn to perform cost and time estimates while meeting safety standards and maintaining equipment.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in WELD 212  and WELD 222 .
Corequisite(s): WELD 203  and WELD 223 .
Course Outcomes:
  • Identify and address safety issues related to fabrication.
  • Design and apply blueprints.
  • Perform CAD and CNC programming.
  • Analyze and calculate cost of materials.
  • Calculate time estimates for fabrication.
  • Perform, Plan and direct material acquisition material acquisition.
