AMM 231 - Automatic Transmission Lab

This course covers disassembly and rebuilding process of automatic transmissions/transaxles.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C- or higher in AMM 200, AMM 201, AMM 210, and AMM 211.
Corequisite(s): AMM 230.
Course Outcomes:

Inspect an Automatic Transmission for leaks.
Test Transmission/Transaxle Electronic Controls.
Test Electronic Transmission/Transaxles Solenoids.
Conduct a Stall Test.
Use proper equipment to Pressure Test an Automatic Transmission.
Employ proper Lockup Torque Converter test procedures.
Perform a Transmission Fluid change.
Adjust Shift Linkage.
Perform a transmission mount replacement.
Disassemble an automatic transmission.
Inspect oil pump, thrust washers, bearings, and bushing, planetary gears, transaxle final drive.
Conduct air test on clutches and servos.
Assemble an automatic transmission.
Perform a differential service.
Inspect 4WD shifting controls, locking hubs, final drive and transfer case.
Test 4WD electrical components.
Perform a transfer case service.
