AMM 111 - Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair II Lab

Provides students with the basics of automotive maintenance including the identification of vehicle systems and basic repairs. Topics include: Electricity, Suspension and Steering, Passenger Comfort and Engine Performance.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C- or higher in AMM 101 and AMM 100.
Corequisite(s): AMM 110
Course Outcomes:

Identify electrical/electronic system components and configuration.
Use wiring diagrams to determine the location of suitable test points.
Use a digital multimeter to measure voltage, ohms and amperage.
Use a test light to determine the condition of fuses.
Diagnose components, connectors, terminals and wiring.
Repair components, connectors, terminals and wiring.
Use jumper cables to start a vehicle.
Apply procedures to remove, clean, and replace a battery.
Diagnose Parasitic Draw.
Test the Starter Control Circuit.
Test the Charging System.
Diagnose Incorrect Driver Information Systems.
Test for Module Communication with a Scan Tool.
Describe Module Programming Procedures.
Diagnose Body Electrical System Concerns.
Diagnose Security System Concerns.
