HPER 190 - Basic Fitness III

This activity course will emphasize the practice of basic fitness.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of D or higher in HPER 188  and HPER 189 .
Course Outcomes:
  • Calculate target heart rate and demonstrate use during exercise.
  • Demonstrate proper equipment usage, various forms of exercise, and general safety principles.
  • Utilize apps and other online fitness tools to report workout hours.
  • Measure changes in body composition, strength, and aerobic capacity.
  • Demonstrate progressive incresae in workload.
  • Demonsrate progress in reaching goals outlined in a customized workout plan.

  4. Use of heart rate and the overload principle during workouts
