Study of origins and characteristics of maladaptive behavior with emphasis on scientific research on the causes and treatment approaches to psychopathology. Topics include anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, substance abuse disorders, dissociative disorders, and problems of cognitive function and childhood disorders. Formerly: PSY 250.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in PSYC& 100.
Recommended: READ 088 or higher

Explain the terminology of disorders as well as the symptoms and indicators as identified in the DSM-5.
