SPAN& 123 - Spanish III Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 5 Introductory course for students wishing to learn Spanish as a second language. Provides a foundation for practical interpersonal communications. Topics include pronunciation, basic grammar, reading, writing, and an introduction to Hispanic culture. Formerly: SPAN 103. Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in SPAN& 122 or instructor permission. Course Outcomes:
- Exchange information both orally and in writing.
- Conjugate verbs in the present perfect tense, for varying subjects in written and oral Spanish.
- Explain the diversity of cultural influences both in student’s own culture and those of Spanish-speaking countries.
- Discuss the future.
- Compose and narrate a story.
- Formulate and support an opinion.
