Wine Industry Sales and Management Certificate

The Wine Industry Sales and Management Certificate prepares students for a career involving wine industry sales, management and hospitality. Students study sales, management, and marketing techniques, including packaging, pricing and branding of wines and associated products; explore the demographics of wine industry sales and marketing of brands and products throughout the world; and learn about compliance and government regulations.  Students will also develop competencies related to hospitality management, personnel management, and customer service.  

Certificate Outcomes: 

  1. Explain wine industry fundamentals, including wine production processes, sensory attributes, and regional characteristics, to effectively communicate product value to customers and stakeholders. 
  2. Create marketing strategies that incorporate branding, digital media, and consumer insights to promote wine products and build brand recognition. 
  3. Apply effective sales techniques to cultivate customer relationships, negotiate contracts, and meet revenue goals in retail and wholesale wine markets and associated industry. 
  4. Analyze market data, consumer trends, and sales performance to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for growth in the wine industry. 
  5. Integrate business practices such as financial planning, inventory control, and regulatory compliance to support effective marketing and sales operations.
