Wine Industry Sales and Management Certificate

The Wine Industry Sales and Management Certificate prepares students for a career involving wine industry sales, management and hospitality. Students study sales, management, and marketing techniques, including packaging, pricing and branding of wines and associated products; explore the demographics of wine industry sales and marketing of brands and products throughout the world; and learn about compliance and government regulations. Students will also develop competencies related to hospitality management, personnel management, and customer service.
Certificate Outcomes:
- Explain wine industry fundamentals, including wine production processes, sensory attributes, and regional characteristics, to effectively communicate product value to customers and stakeholders.
- Create marketing strategies that incorporate branding, digital media, and consumer insights to promote wine products and build brand recognition.
- Apply effective sales techniques to cultivate customer relationships, negotiate contracts, and meet revenue goals in retail and wholesale wine markets and associated industry.
- Analyze market data, consumer trends, and sales performance to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for growth in the wine industry.
- Integrate business practices such as financial planning, inventory control, and regulatory compliance to support effective marketing and sales operations.
