The AAS in Graphic Design and Web Development is a comprehensive two-year program that equips students with the technological, creative, and business skills needed for success in the tech industry. Students gain hands-on experience with graphic design applications, design principles, and marketing strategies, while also mastering web development skills including UX/UI, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and full-stack development. This diverse skill set prepares graduates for roles as designers in creative agencies, freelancers and entrepreneurs or as front-end or full-stack developers in web development teams. The program’s balanced approach ensures students are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the digital landscape.
Degree Outcomes:
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in industry-standard graphic design and web development tools.
- Develop targeted marketing and advertising strategies for print, digital, and interactive media.
- Create illustrations, branding, marketing materials, product packaging, and other visual communication assets that employ the principles of design and achieve the intended impact.
- Create user-centered interfaces that address customer needs and enhance user experiences.
- Write clean, semantic code using industry-standard markup, styling, and scripting languages.
- Build responsive websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
- Collaborate on coding projects using version control systems to manage shared codebases effectively.
- Manage project workflows with integrated development environments, command-line tools, and pipelines.
- Integrate graphic design principles into web development to create cohesive digital experiences.
Transferability: The AAS Degree is designed for students planning to enter their chosen career upon graduation. Often only selected credits are considered transferable to public or private universities.
