Viticulture Science Certificate

This certificate is dedicated to the science of wine making/wine grape growing. Students can complete the Viticulture Science Certificate before completing the Fermentation Science Certificate.

Certificate Outcomes:

  1. Vineyard Planning, Establishment, and Year-Round Management - Design, establish, and manage a modern vineyard using sustainable practices and data-driven decisions.

  2. Vine Disease and Pest Management - Apply sustainable remedies and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.

  3. Wine Sensory Analysis and Evaluation - Conduct sensory evaluations of wines, identifying key aromas, flavors, and structural components.

  4. Winery Regulation and Compliance - Apply state, federal, and international regulations governing vineyard operations.

  5. Sustainability in Vineyard Operations - Analyze and implement sustainable practices for soil health, water management, and vineyard ecosystem balance.
