The Collision Repair Certificate is a comprehensive program that prepares students for a successful career in collision repair. It covers a wide range of essential auto body skills, including job planning, sheet metal repair, and metal finishing operations. Students learn and apply skills such as glass replacement, how to align doors, hoods, and fenders, and how to apply body plastic filler and perform fiberglass repairs.The Collision Repair Certificate is a comprehensive program that prepares students for a successful career in collision repair. Students learn and apply skills such as glass replacement, how to align doors, hoods, and fenders, and how to apply body plastic filler and perform fiberglass repairs.

Certificate Outcomes:

  1. Obtain S/P2 Safety Certificate and demonstrate safe practices in the auto body shop. 
  2. Select, use, and maintain shop tools, common hand tools, and power tools for auto body repair tasks. 
  3. Explain and differentiate between unibody and body-over-frame construction methods. 
  4. Remove, install, and adjust body trim, hardware, and glass (both moveable and stationary). 
  5. Apply basic metal straightening techniques and body fillers to repair damaged panels. 
  6. Analyze vehicle chassis to identify misalignment and structural damage. 
  7. Utilize various types of pulling equipment for frame and body straightening. 
  8. Plan and perform comprehensive repairs on damaged vehicles, incorporating appropriate techniques, safety measures, and corrosion protection methods.
