COSM 131 - Intermediate Principles and Procedures I

Intermediate instruction in cosmetology.
Course Outcomes:
 

  1. Demonstrate the steps to complete a haircuts/hairstyles/coloring service for client scenarios.
  2. Compare and contrast safety and sanitation measures used for the protection of the client and Cosmetologist for each service rendered.
  3. Collect implements needed to provide Cosmetology services.
  4. Develop a styling plan for based on a client scenario.
  5. Discuss braiding and extensions techniques.
  6. Describe safety and sanitation for diseases of the hair and scalp.
  7. Explain basic chemistry and electricity used in Cosmetology.
  8. Examine Washington State Barbering regulations and laws.
