COSM 121 - Principles and Procedures of Cosmetology II Credits: 1-11 Introduction to basic services of cosmetology. Course Outcomes:
- Recognize safety and sanitation measures for protection of the client and Cosmetologist for each service rendered.
- Select a type of haircuts/hairstyles/color technique for projects based client scenarios.
- Discuss the interpersonal and communication skills for Cosmetology customers and Peers.
- Determine solutions for selected type client service scenarios.
- Compare the different services provided in a salon.
- Memorize Washington State Cosmetology regulations and laws.
Course Topics:
- Skin disease and disorders
- Haircutting and trimming of facial hair
- Manicuring
- Hair color: temporary, semi-permanent and permanent
- Bleaching
- Scalp treatment and properties of scalp and hair
- Dry hair styling
- Safety
