COSM 121 - Principles and Procedures of Cosmetology II

Introduction to basic services of cosmetology.
Course Outcomes:
 

  1. Recognize safety and sanitation measures for protection of the client and Cosmetologist for each service rendered.
  2. Select a type of haircuts/hairstyles/color technique for projects based client scenarios.
  3. Discuss the interpersonal and communication skills for Cosmetology customers and Peers.
  4. Determine solutions for selected type client service scenarios.
  5. Compare the different services provided in a salon.
  6. Memorize Washington State Cosmetology regulations and laws.

  1. Skin disease and disorders
  2. Haircutting and trimming of facial hair
  3. Manicuring
  4. Hair color: temporary, semi-permanent and permanent
  5. Bleaching
  6. Scalp treatment and properties of scalp and hair
  7. Dry hair styling
  8. Safety
