NAIL 121 - Principles and Procedures of Nail Technology II Credits: 1-11 Advanced instruction of nail technology. Topics: cleaning/disinfecting, sterilization, scientific concepts, manicuring, pedicuring, advanced technology of nail enhancement services. Emphasis on safety and cleaning/disinfecting measures in all instruction. Course Outcomes:
- Identify elements of a client consultation
- Identify function and effects of tools
- Nail equipment (e.g., table, lamp, electric file, pedicure basin)
- Nail implements (e.g., nail clippers, cuticle pusher)
- Nail supplies, products, and materials (e.g., cotton, lotion, towels)
- Identify mechanics of massage movements
- Effleurage
- Petrissage
- Friction
- Tapotement
- Describe Nail tip application process
- Describe Acrylic nail application process
- Explain the purpose of light-cured gels
