CNC 105 - Haas CNC Set-up and Operations I


Credits: 12
This course will focus on Loading and measuring tooling for both Lathes and Milling machines. It will also cover the 6 sections of the Haas controller to give the student the skills to control tooling offsets, compensation and length offsets. This course will also teach the student to install machining fixtures and vices for material clamping.
Course Outcomes:
 

  1. Demonstrate how to measure the tools, load tool into assigned pockets.
  2. Demonstrate how to do a basic CNC program search.
  3. Show how to place the machine in safe mode to proof first part.
  4. Show how to get into offset page and back off the tools to maintain correct size and dimensions.

  4. CNC Milling and understanding the 3 axes.
  5. Types of CNC milling machine.
  6. CNC Turning.
  7. Features and specifications of the CNC control panel.
