PMT 109 - Introduction to Precision Machining Credits: 5 Provide orientation and initial experiences with the safe configuration, set-up, operation, horizontal milling machines, lathes, and related components, tools, knowledge, and skills. Course Outcomes:
- Observe and practice proper safety rules and regulations in the shop.
- Make accurate measurements with precision measuring tools.
- Sharpen tools.
- Clean and service the engine lathe.
- Operate an engine lathe to make a part.
- These are minimum requirements; the instructor may add additional skills as deemed necessary.
