TRK 120 - Truck Driver Training Lab Credits: 1-18 Laboratory training and experience for entry-level long haul truck drivers and commercial driving license testing. Behind-the-wheel practice includes backing techniques, proper cornering, up and down hill maneuvers, space and speed management, coupling/uncoupling, and city and highway driving maneuvers. Course Outcomes:
- Exhibit safe driving techniques.
- Use appropriate safety procedures for left- and right-hand turns.
- Demonstrate proper shifting, braking, and mirror use.
- Use safe and proper procedures for coupling and uncoupling trailers.
- Demonstrate safe driving techniques, including safe backing procedures.
- Complete CDL License with endorsements
- Perform proper procedures for pre-trip inspection, backing maneuvers, and road test.
LAB Credits: 18 LAB hours per week: 36 Prerequisite(s): Students need completed drivers file, commercial learner permit, and must earn 80% or above on TRK 110 course theory assessment(s) to advance to TRK 120.
