TRK 120 - Truck Driver Training Lab


Credits: 1-18
Laboratory training and experience for entry-level long haul truck drivers and commercial driving license testing. Behind-the-wheel practice includes backing techniques, proper cornering, up and down hill maneuvers, space and speed management, coupling/uncoupling, and city and highway driving maneuvers.
Course Outcomes:
  1. Exhibit safe driving techniques.
  2. Use appropriate safety procedures for left- and right-hand turns.
  3. Demonstrate proper shifting, braking, and mirror use.
  4. Use safe and proper procedures for coupling and uncoupling trailers.
  5. Demonstrate safe driving techniques, including safe backing procedures.
  6. Complete CDL License with endorsements
  7. Perform proper procedures for pre-trip inspection, backing maneuvers, and road test.

Prerequisite(s): Students need completed drivers file, commercial learner permit, and must earn 80% or above on TRK 110  course theory assessment(s) to advance to TRK 120.
