ESTE 103 - Principles of Electricity Theory Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 4 LAB hours per week: 2 Introduction to electrical theory and terminology, electrical safety, direct current (DC), alternating current (AC), electrical energy sources, conductors, resistance, circuit types, Ohm’s law, circuit calculations and measuring instruments, magnetism, magnetic inductance and capacitance. Formerly: EST 131. Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in AMATH 105 , or an appropriate score on the AMATH placement exam from the Testing Center, or a grade of C or better in a college level math course, or permission from the instructor. Recommended: Concurrent enrollment in AMATH 106 unless student has already passed AMATH 106 or higher level math course. Course Attribute(s): None
