AHSE 170 - Workplace Violence Prevention and Safety for Healthcare Professionals

This course is designed for healthcare professionals facing the ever increasing risk of workplace violence. Risk factors and common settings for workplace violence will be presented. Using case scenarios, interactive training on effective, evidence-based, verbal de-escalation techniques will be taught. Practical advice and safety skills will be presented to assist the learning to better protect and advocate for their safety in the healthcare work environment. Criminal laws that protect healthcare professionals from assault will be discussed and physical self-defense techniques will be demonstrated. Formerly: HO 170.
