CJ& 105 - Introduction to Corrections Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 5 This course examines the historical context, philosophical concepts, and major theories that have shaped the United States corrections system into its present form. Primary topics of interest include correctional policies, programs, approaches, and contemporary correctional issues, as well as the role of corrections in the larger criminal justice system, with special emphasis on the corrections system effects on inmates, families, and society.
