GIS 151 - Advanced GIS Credits: 3 LEC hours per week: 2 LAB hours per week: 2 Instruction in advanced topics of GIS. Emphasis includes geo-spatial analysis, creation and use of geo-databases, geo-coding, georeferencing, and digital elevation models using ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop software. Formerly: CET 251 and ENT 151. Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in GIS 150 or instructor permission. Course Outcomes:
- Import and modify data sets
- Use coordinate systems & projections
- Create and use geo databases
- Create new shapefiles and edit existing shapefiles
- Geo-code addresses and geo-reference photographs
- Build models for redundant geo-spacial analysis processes
- Collect, analyze & map complex geographic data
- Write basic data queries
