GIS 150 - Intro to GIS

Introduction to the fundamentals of GIS and GPS using ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop software. Formerly: CET 250 and ENT 150.
Course Outcomes:

Demonstrate a basic understanding of GIS,and GPS.
Use ArcMap, ArcCatalog, geodatabases and shapefiles for mapping.
Identify types of shapeflies,layers and feature classes.
Create new selections from existing data sets.
Identify basic coordinate systems.
Create features using an attribute file.
Classify, symbolize and label features.
Create a presentation-quality map using geographical information.
