GIS 150 - Intro to GIS Credits: 3 LEC hours per week: 2 LAB hours per week: 2 Introduction to the fundamentals of GIS and GPS using ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop software. Formerly: CET 250 and ENT 150. Course Outcomes:
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of GIS,and GPS.
- Use ArcMap, ArcCatalog, geodatabases and shapefiles for mapping.
- Identify types of shapeflies,layers and feature classes.
- Create new selections from existing data sets.
- Identify basic coordinate systems.
- Create features using an attribute file.
- Classify, symbolize and label features.
- Create a presentation-quality map using geographical information.
