ANSC 224 - Pasture and Range Management

A study of the proper use and management of forage producing lands using grazing animals as a method to harvest and utilize this resource. This class will also focus on the economics of grazing livestock and the environmental sustainability issue surrounding the topic. Formerly: AGPR 224.
Course Outcomes:
  • Identify various pasture and forage plants.
  • Demonstrate the appropriate use of different pasture plants.
  • Examine and question the effects of soil fertility on forage production.
  • Evaluate grazing methods and proper use.
  • Predict costs associated with managing and proper utilization of pasture and range.
