Addresses common feeding practices and nutrient characteristics of animal feeds. Formerly: AGPR 112.
Course Outcomes:

Recognize the major nutrients and the role each of the nutrients plays in animal nutrition.
Describe basic functions of digestion systems for monogastric and ruminant animals.
Analyze various types of livestock feed.
Predict the relative levels of nutrients that common feeds contain.
Analyze required nutrients for livestock.
Employ knowledge of balancing rations for different species including multiple methods and nutrients.
Assemble comprehensive feeding strategies for profitable livestock enterprise management.
