ANSC 110 - Introduction to Livestock Production

Introduction to the livestock industry and its importance to the U.S. economy. Formerly: AGPR 110.
Course Outcomes:
  • Identify the animal contributions to human needs.
  • Discuss the market classes and grades of farm animals.
  • Explain the principles of genetics and physiology involved in animal production.
  • Identify and describe the production characteristics of the major breeds and apply these to programs and specific production schemes necessary for maximum economic return.
  • Recognize and discuss the management procedures within specific production schemes for each species of farm animal.
