Credits:5 LEC hours per week:5 This course provides students with an understanding of the application of project management to both corporations and start-up projects, including the four knowledge areas of scope, time, cost and quality. Students will utilize project management software tools to manage a project while working in a virtual team environment to gain experience working with a global marketplace. Course Outcomes:
Identify key attributes and phases of a project.
Construct project plans using project management tools.
Apply project management tools to identify and solve common project performance issues, both positive and negative.
Evaluate the critical success factors that play a role in the success of a project by applying project management body of knowledge areas
Use earned value methods to monitor progress, and project success of an ongoing project.
Compose communications for stakeholders on projected outcomes and deliverables.
Formulate and defend a project plan utilizing virtual resources to enhance flexibility of a project delivery organization.
