BUS 222 - Records and Database Management Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 5 Students expand their knowledge of database software learned in CS 110 . This class focuses on the operation and maintenance of a computer database. It also identifies the principles and practices of effective information management for an automated records system. Formerly: OT 222. Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in CS 110 Course Outcomes:
- Describe the use and classification of records in today’s businesses.
- Identify relevant legislation affecting records management.
- Analyze the necessary adjustment of filing segments for input into computer application software.
- Design and manipulate information storage systems using current database software and its advanced functions.
- Identify and review information management security systems.
- Identify current trends in records management.
- Solve information management problems using concepts and tools learned and explored in the course
