ECED& 138 - Home Visitor/Family Engagement Credits: 3 LEC hours per week: 3 Plan and provide home visits and group activities that promote secure parent-child relationships and support families to provide high-quality early learning experiences that are embedded in everyday routines and experiences. Course Outcomes:
- Describe developmental milestones from birth to 36 months articulating the influences of individual development, temperament and cultural norms.
- Articulate a plan to create reciprocal, culturally sensitive partnerships with families.
- Describe and plan an effective home visit that includes awareness of family and home visitor safety.
- Create a plan for effective communication with families to develop shared goals and understanding of school readiness skills.
- Describe Reflective Practice and develop and action plan for implementation and evaluation.
- Construct a plan based on research-based curriculum that delivers developmentally, linguistically and culturally appropriate home visits and group socialization activities that support children’s cognitive, social and emotional growth for later success in school.
- Identify resources supporting effective quality home visiting programs and group socialization opportunities.
