ENGL 257 - Literature of The Inland Northwest Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 5 Examines the historical and contemporary literature of the Inland Northwest in fiction, poetry, personal memoir, and letters. Formerly: LIT 257. Course Outcomes:
- Apply literary terms and concepts, such as style, structure, and characterization, to various texts of Northwest Literature, such as fiction, poetry, personal memoir, and letters.
- Interpret examples of Northwest Literature from various authors, cultures, and traditions to derive meaning or themes.
- Evaluate others’ interpretations through a further examination of the text.
- Recognize the styles and contributions to Northwest Literature from a variety of cultures and historical periods.
- Investigate themes in and formulate ideas about the Literature of the Inland Northwest through creative projects or written essays.
