Examines selected films with emphasis on the variety of film types, techniques, and developing technology. Formerly: LIT 144.
Course Outcomes:

Categorize films into genres, eras, and interpret those films to derive themes and meaning.
Analyze and explain the typical process of film construction and completion.
Recognize and discuss major advances and breakthroughs in film techniques and technologies.
Apply terms and concepts associated with film criticism and production, such as mise-en-scene, point of view, and narrative to films from a variety of genres.
Analyze, interpret, and critique selected film classics as technical, commercial, and artistic projects.
