HSC 092 - Walking/Fitness Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 5 Students will enhance physical fitness and develop lifelong skills through walking and other fitness activities. Students will learn to use a heart rate monitor, understand the importance of hydration and will explore the importance of cardiovascular health. Course Outcomes:
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.
- Apply knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics related to movement and performance.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.
- Exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others.
- Recognize the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and social interaction.
- Comprehend concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention to enhance health.
- Analyze the influence of family, peers, culture, media, technology, and other factors on health behaviors.
