JD 221 - Ag Management Solutions

Provides basic knowledge and skills that enable students to market, and support solutions that feature products from Ag Management Solutions. Much of this training is designed specifically to enable the student to understand the different applications of global positioning systems and precision farming practices; students will apply problem-solving skills.
Course Outcomes:
  • Install and operate the AMS systems offered by the John Deere company, including GPS signal accuracy, RTK differential correction systems, JD Link, ITEC PRO, field mapping, Service ADVISOR remote, and Auto-Trac systems.
  • Interpret information within John Deere guidance and documentation products within John Deere’s Stellar Support for setup and optimization of systems.
  • Identify the purpose and function of AMS products currently available.
  • Explain precision farming information and what it is used for.
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures for John Deere equipment as related to AMS systems.
  • Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
  • Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
  • Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines to Success” policies.
