JD 215 - John Deere Electronics

Review of electrical fundamentals, basic electronics, and electrical diagnostics. Topics include techniques of electrical and electronic circuit diagnostics and reading electrical schematics. Student must score a minimum of 80% on the Electrical Methods and Techniques assessment to be eligible for graduation from the JD Tech program.
Course Outcomes:
  • Describe electrical and electronic circuits on John Deere equipment.
  • Build, repair, and diagnose circuits in each application.
  • Use a digital multi-meter.
  • Identify and test electrical systems and devices.
  • Diagnose electrical systems with the aid of I.S.O. electrical symbols and locate the components of equipment.
  • Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
  • Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
  • Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines for Success” policies.
