JD 215 - John Deere Electronics Credits: 5 LEC hours per week: 3 LAB hours per week: 4 Review of electrical fundamentals, basic electronics, and electrical diagnostics. Topics include techniques of electrical and electronic circuit diagnostics and reading electrical schematics. Student must score a minimum of 80% on the Electrical Methods and Techniques assessment to be eligible for graduation from the JD Tech program. Course Outcomes:
- Describe electrical and electronic circuits on John Deere equipment.
- Build, repair, and diagnose circuits in each application.
- Use a digital multi-meter.
- Identify and test electrical systems and devices.
- Diagnose electrical systems with the aid of I.S.O. electrical symbols and locate the components of equipment.
- Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
- Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
- Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines for Success” policies.
