Review of electrical fundamentals, basic electronics, and electrical diagnostics. Topics include techniques of electrical and electronic circuit diagnostics and reading electrical schematics. Student must score a minimum of 80% on the Electrical Methods and Techniques assessment to be eligible for graduation from the JD Tech program.
Course Outcomes:

Describe electrical and electronic circuits on John Deere equipment.
Build, repair, and diagnose circuits in each application.
Use a digital multi-meter.
Identify and test electrical systems and devices.
Diagnose electrical systems with the aid of I.S.O. electrical symbols and locate the components of equipment.
Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines for Success” policies.
