JD 120 - John Deere Heating and Air Conditioning Credits: 4 LEC hours per week: 2 LAB hours per week: 4 Theory, operation, and repair of late model John Deere air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems are discussed. Recovery, recycling, and recharging of the air conditioning systems are demonstrated and practiced. Course Outcomes:
- Define the theory of operations of each air conditioning system used on John Deere equipment.
- Recover, recycle, pull vacuum, and recharge to specifications both R-12 and R-134-A refrigerants.
- Diagnose, safely repair, and/or retrofit air conditioning systems.
- Use techniques for handling of refrigerants safely.
- Explain the theory of operation of heating systems in John Deere cabs.
- Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
- Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
- Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines to success” policies.
