JD 120 - John Deere Heating and Air Conditioning

Theory, operation, and repair of late model John Deere air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems are discussed. Recovery, recycling, and recharging of the air conditioning systems are demonstrated and practiced.
Course Outcomes:
  • Define the theory of operations of each air conditioning system used on John Deere equipment.
  • Recover, recycle, pull vacuum, and recharge to specifications both R-12 and R-134-A refrigerants.
  • Diagnose, safely repair, and/or retrofit air conditioning systems.
  • Use techniques for handling of refrigerants safely.
  • Explain the theory of operation of heating systems in John Deere cabs.
  • Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
  • Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
  • Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines to success” policies.
