The principles and application of fluid flow and hydraulic components are discussed. Testing and repair of low-pressure and high-pressure systems and control circuits are explained, demonstrated, and practiced. Offered to second year John Deere students only. Formerly: JD 205.
Course Outcomes:

Define the theory of operation of each hydraulic system used on John Deere equipment.
Diagnose hydraulic system problems.
Troubleshoot and repair various hydraulic components by using a technical manual.
Measure performance in a hydraulic system using a flow meter and test gauges.
Interpret the symbols on an I.S.O. hydraulic diagram and locate the components on equipment.
Disassemble and repair a hydraulic component following tech manual instructions and specifications.
Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate to the task.
Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guideline to Success” policies.
