JD 101 - John Deere Fundamentals and Orientation

This course provides an introduction to manuals, time management, engine classifications, serial numbers, and service department policies.
Course Outcomes:
  • Summarize the history and current structure of the John Deere company.
  • Distinguish between using operator and technical information via service ADVISOR, D-Tac, JDU, and Dealerpath website material.
  • Operate John Deere equipment and forklifts safely.
  • Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct a problem.
  • Use of and care for hand and specialty tools.
  • Select appropriate device and accurately measure parts, components, and equipment.
  • Identify common fastening hardware.
  • Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
  • Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines to Success” policies.

  11. Safe operation of shop equipment and skills test.
