TRIO 110 - Learning Strategies for College Credits: 1-3 LEC hours per week: 3 Provides an overview of learning and motivation theories and methods that promote student success in the classroom. Empowers students to become active, responsible, and successful learners. Topics and techniques include: memory and learning, note taking, exam preparation and test anxiety, time management, goals clarification, learning style, concentration, self-awareness, financial literacy, and personal responsibility. Upon completion, students will demonstrate a clear understanding of the strategies required to meet their life goals. Formerly: PSY 100 and CE 110. Corequisite(s): Enrollment in at least one pre-college college-level course. Course Outcomes:
- Analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources to identify learning strategies and apply concepts in this class and other classes.
- Identify and evaluate personal strengths and weaknesses to develop personal success plans for college.
- Identify and evaluate personal strengths and weaknesses to develop personal success plans for employment and other areas of life.
- Manage the academic demands of college classes independently.
