Department Overview: ​​​​Our Audio Engineering program can give you the skills, confidence and work ethic to become an Audio Engineer. This program prepares students for entry-level positions working in recording studios, TV/Film, video gaming, churches, theaters and/or working with bands. Plus, we’ll help you think about the next steps in your career. With college transferable classes and business classes, you could transfer on to a degree.​ ​ 

Degrees: Students may earn a certificate in Audio Engineering.  ***This certificate is undergoing State Board approval and is expected to be available in Fall 2024.

Industry Description: ​​Audio engineering is a profession that involves the scientific, aesthetic, and technological aspects of manipulating, recording, and reproducing audio. It’s the process of applying electronic, digital, acoustic, and electrical principles to the recording and production of music, voices, and sounds.​ 

Entrance Requirements: Students must start the program in fall due to course sequencing. Complete the placement process through the Testing Center. Visit wwcc.edu/placement for more information.
