CAP 033 - Pacific Northwest History Credits: 1-2.5 This course focuses on geography, Native tribes and their cultures, explorers, pioneer settlement, government, economy, and ecology of the Pacific Northwest states of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho from earliest times to the present. Credit can be earned for only one of these courses: CAP 033 or HSC 039 . Course Outcomes:
- Analyze how individuals and movements have shaped the history of the Pacific Northwest.
- Evaluate factors that contributed to the development of the Pacific Northwest and describe their impact on the present.
- Investigate the cause-and-effect relationships of past human events.
- Identify regional trends and examine issues facing the people of the Pacific Northwest today.
- Respond to current events in the Pacific Northwest.
- Use technology skills to find and use information for academic purposes, including word processing and learning management systems.
