CARP 181 - Introduction to Carpentry Credits: 1-20 Introduction to the construction industry and principles of residential building construction. On-site work that includes excavation, footings, foundations, wall framing, trusses, sheathing and tool safety. Course Outcomes:
- Practice industry safety regulations.
- Interpret symbols and drawings used in blueprints.
- Prepare the site.
- Install a foundation.
- Erect rough framing.
- Identify roofing materials needed for specific work.
- Demonstrate techniques for interior and exterior wall framing.
