CARP 181 - Introduction to Carpentry

Introduction to the construction industry and principles of residential building construction. On-site work that includes excavation, footings, foundations, wall framing, trusses, sheathing and tool safety.
Course Outcomes:
  1. Practice industry safety regulations.
  2. Interpret symbols and drawings used in blueprints.
  3. Prepare the site.
  4. Install a foundation.
  5. Erect rough framing.
  6. Identify roofing materials needed for specific work.
  7. Demonstrate techniques for interior and exterior wall framing.
