CS 250 - Site Development Associate HTML V


Credits: 5
The Site Development Associate course teaches students essential Web page development skills. This course teaches students to develop Web sites using HTML5 and CSS.
Course Outcomes:
  1. Discuss the importance of a business Web site that complements your organization.
  2. Identify front-end and back-end Web page design issues, demonstrate knowledge of Web site development principles, and define the concepts of creative design and branding standards.
  3. Discuss the history of markup languages, and identify markup language standards and the organizations that define them.
  4. Define markup and document structure elements, and use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to apply formatting to Web pages.
  5. Demonstrate ability to use both a text editor and a GUI markup language editor to create HTML5 pages.
  6. Create HTML5 pages with horizontal rules, images, browser-safe colors, hyperlinks, tables, Web forms, client-side image maps, audio and video.
  7. Test processing of Web forms using a public test engine, and validate your HTML5 code to W3C standards.
  8. Identify requirements for Web site publishing, identify uses for client-side and server-side Web technologies and languages, and demonstrate HTML5 Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
  9. Identify the benefits of Dynamic HTML (DHTML) and the Document Object Model (DOM).
  10. Identify Web page development techniques for mobile devices, and use Web application frameworks to create and manage dynamic Web sites.
  11. Use Web 2.0 technologies to customize your Web pages.
  12. Compare using a service provider to hosting your own Web server.
  13. Discuss Internet marketing issues and search engine optimization (SEO), and their effects on the content and performance of your Web site.
  14. Identify issues related to working in a global environment.
