DRMA 152 - Beginning Acting II Credits: 3 Introduction to script analysis, scene study, and audition/monologue preparation with further exploration of acting including physical, vocal technique, theatrical makeup application, improvisation, and culminating with a public performance of a monologue and scene at the end of the quarter. Course Outcomes:
- Demonstrate greater creativity in outward verbal and non-verbal expression to exhibit a wide range of characterizations/emotions.
- Exhibit less self-consciousness and greater self-confidence in live performance tasks.
- Demonstrate a mastery of standard terminology of the acting profession.
- Demonstrate an ability to analyze and interpret textual material for performance.
- Demonstrate improvement in controlling personal tendencies/habits while developing proper techniques of vocal and physical expression necessary for live performance.
- Analyze and discuss the performances of others in objective ways.
- Develop continuing respect and appreciation for the differing talents and abilities of other performers.
