A detailed study and analysis of mechanical and electronic diesel injection systems. This class will emphasize ASE/NATEF competency completion. Students must be seeking a degree or certificate in Diesel Technology.
Course Outcomes:
  1. Examine diesel combustion theory using the appropriate terminology.
  2. Analyze diesel injection pump and injector service.
  3. Analyze diesel engine performance issues.
  4. Evaluate personal progress on NATEF task list.

  2. Basic fuel systems and components
  3. Mechanical fuel injection diagnosis and repair
  4. Electronic fuel injection diagnosis and repair
  5. Emissions
  6. Air induction and exhaust systems
  7. Engine brakes and retarders
  8. General engine diagnosis
  9. Engine tune-up
