DT 189 - Preventive Maintenance


Credits: 1-5
Study of preventive maintenance on medium and heavy duty vehicles. Topics include truck classifications, P.M. programs, out of service criteria, wheels and rims, frame and cross-members, trailer maintenance, and coupling devices. Students must be seeking a degree or certificate in Diesel Technology.
Course Outcomes:
 

  1. Distinguish between the different truck classifications.
  2. Evaluate out of service criteria.
  3. Arrange P.M. scheduling.
  4. Appraise truck and trailer P.M. problems.
  5. Evaluate personal progress on the NATEF task list.
