DT 185 - Drivetrains


Credits: 1-5
Study of the various components found in the powertrain system. Topics include theory, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of clutches, transmissions, torque converters, drive lines, differentials, and power take-off devices. This class will emphasize ASE/NATEF competency completion. Students must be seeking a certificate or degree in Diesel Technology.
Course Outcomes:
 

  1. Interpret knowledge of drive train theory.
  2. Examine, tear down, and rebuild drive train components.
  3. Analyze problems with drive train systems.
  4. Evaluate personal progress on the NATEF task list.
