DT 185 - Drivetrains Credits: 1-5 Study of the various components found in the powertrain system. Topics include theory, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of clutches, transmissions, torque converters, drive lines, differentials, and power take-off devices. This class will emphasize ASE/NATEF competency completion. Students must be seeking a certificate or degree in Diesel Technology. Course Outcomes:
- Interpret knowledge of drive train theory.
- Examine, tear down, and rebuild drive train components.
- Analyze problems with drive train systems.
- Evaluate personal progress on the NATEF task list.
