HPER 189 - Basic Fitness II


Credits: 1
This activity course will emphasize the practice of basic fitness. Concurrent enrollment in HPER 188  is required.
Course Outcomes:
 

  1. Calculate target heart rate and demonstrate use during exercise.
  2. Demonstrate proper equipment usage, various forms of exercise and general safety principles.
  3. Utilize apps and other online fitness tools to report workout hours.
  4. Measure changes in body composition, strength, and aerobic capacity.
  5. Apply the overload principle to create progressively more challenging workouts.
  6. Demonstrate progress in reaching goals outlined in a customized workout plan
