HPER 107 - Tone Zone I Credits: 1 The Tone Zone will introduce students to basic fitness principles, exercise routines, and assessment tools needed to develop lifelong exercise habits. The course will utilize variable resistance strength machines, free weights, stretching routines and various cardiovascular exercises. Course Outcomes:
- Calculate target heart rate and demonstrate use during exercise.
- Explain and demonstrate proper equipment usage, variousw forms of exercise, and general safety principles.
- Identify changes in body composition, strength, and aerobic capacity.
- Apply the overload principle to create progressively more challenging workouts.
- Design individual workout programs.
- Compare and contrast results in pre-test and post-test.
