HSC 066 - Business Math Credits: 1-5 This course prepares students for success by incorporating Algebra I, Algebra 2, and Geometry topics into practical business and personal finance contexts. The course focuses on investments, credit, automobile expenses, insurance, income tax, household budgeting, and more while helping students gain confidence in solving common algebraic functions. Credit can be earned for only one of these courses: HSC 066 or CAP 076 . Course Outcomes:
- Evaluate financial responsibility of business ownership based on ratios and percents.
- Draw conclusions about trends based on scatterplots and bar charts.
- Compute interest using the appropriate formula.
- Calculate the value of single and periodic investments.
- Find and evaluate financial information from a variety of sources.
- Make financial decisions by systematically considering alternatives and consequences.
- Organize personal finances and use a budget to manage cash flow.
- Identify the costs and benefits of various types of loans and credit.
