JD 230 - John Deere Harvesting Equipment


Credits: 4
Performance of John Deere harvesting equipment will be analyzed. Topics include theory, design, principles of operation, proper set-up, and adjustment of all harvesting equipment. Emphasis on combines, hay, and forage equipment.
Course Outcomes:
 
  1. Operate various types of harvesting equipment.
  2. Optimize harvesting equipment according to conditions for in-field use.
  3. Describe the fundamentals of various harvesting systems.
  4. Perform maintenance, diagnostic, and repair procedures on various harvesting equipment.
  5. Communicate the complaint, the cause, and the action taken to correct the problem.
  6. Use software applications and technical equipment appropriate for task.
  7. Exhibit professionalism as listed in “Guidelines for Success” policies.
