MATH& 132 - Mathematics for Elementary Education II Credits: 5 MATH& 132 is the second of a two-course sequence designed to give prospective elementary education majors the depth of understanding necessary to teach mathematics in the elementary classroom. This course satisfies the quantitative skills required for the AA degree, provided that MATH& 131 has also been completed with a grade of C- or higher. Course Outcomes:
- Interpret the meaning of and perform computations with decimals, ratios, proportions and percentages.
- Use algebraic reasoning, variables, notation, and graphing to solve problems.
- Analyze properties of geometric figures on the plane and in space.
- Use properties of geometric figures and algebra to calculate two- and three-dimensional measurements.
- Solve problems involving probability, odds, permutations, combinations and expected value.
