AGBS 109 - Information/Technology in Agriculture Credits: 5 Introduction to precision agriculture software used on the farm for operation and business management. Students will focus on entering and managing records, creating databases, developing field maps, website design, and social networking will be included as well as gathering experience with industry programs. Course Outcomes:
- Define precision agriculture.
- Integrate GIS (Geographic Information System) technology with field equipment.
- Acquire and input agricultural data into software applications.
- Navigate multiple agricultural industry software programs and applications
- Design farm/ranch management strategies using collected historical data.
- Curate a layered computer farm model.
- Develop awareness of agricultural industry apps and their integration with sustainable practices.
- Expand digital literacy for information and data gathering and Management by developing a basic website for recordkeeping and business management.
